MISS MINOPRIO.
TRICKS TO FAKIRS.
GOLF FAME GIRL FOR INDIA
LONDON, November 14,
Slim fingers tipped with blood-red finger-nails caressed a pack of cards in the lounge of a Mayfair flat one day this week. "The King, Queen, Jack and ten of diamonds are in the centre of the pack, aren't thev?" said slender, dark-haired Miss Gloria Minoprio. They were. The fingers did not move. "Now they are at the top," said Miss Minoprio. They wore.
Miss Minoprio is going to do that sort of thing for Indian rajahs very soon. She has just sailed to tour India with her bag of tricks. Proceeds of her magic will go to tropical research. Miss Minoprio astonished golfers two years ago by wearing black trousers in the women's open golf championship and playing with only one club, a cleek. "That ought to shake the Indian fakirs up a bit," said her uncle, Mr. William Gavin, after watching her card tricks. "She is a genius. She can do all the fakir tricks."
