FARM LABOUR SHORTAGE.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) . i... . THAMES, this day. The monthly meeting of the Thames Hospital Board was held yesterday, Mr - . W. Danby, the deputy-chairman, presiding. The New Zealand branch of the British Empire Cancer Campaign Society advised that it understood there were in remote country districts many with real or suspected cancer, who, on account of financial difficulties, were not availing themselves of the special /consultation and treatment service provided in the main centres. Farmers could not get seasonal labour when other wqrk was found for the unemployed, and women were being forced to work in cowsheds.
