BRITANNIA RELICS.

IN A LONDON GALLERY. NEW ZEALANDER'S PURCHASE. (Special.—By Air Mall.) LONDON, October 23. Mr. Rex Nan Kivell, the New Zealand art expert, ' has bought many of the fittings from King George's famous racing cutter, Britannia, to equip his new gallery off Bond Street, London. With his partner, Lord Alingtop, he has opened the gallery this week. The gallery itself is not unlike a de luxe cabin of the yacht of Kings. Down the companion way into the basement has been fitted a highly distinguishedlooking railing. It belonged to the Britannia, and one can easily imagine how often King GeoVge's hand must have passed along it. Mr. 2s an Kivell opened a drawer and showed other Britannia souvenirs and told liow he was lucky enough to acquire them. In June 340 lots of the Britannia effects were put up for auction at East Cowes. Among them were anchors, spinnaker booms, ice chests, and cups and mugs. They fetched £1000, and furniture, cutlery and crockery which Queen Mary had ear-marked the day before the sale were sent to Buckingham Palace. Mr. Nan Kivell went to East Cowes the dav after and lie had no difficulty in repurchasing in the locality the storm port from the King's own saloon, a bosun's compass, and no fewer than 50 hanks, single and double made-not of brass or of bronze, but pf Admiralty gun metal The hanks he has had mounted on little marble bases, and as he says, they will make admirable wedding presents.
