PEOPLE'S THEATRE.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS. Further progress in the project to establish a People's Theatre in Auckland was made last night, when a special meeting was held in the rooms of the Workers' Educational Association for the purpose of electing officers. Air. R. K. Mason presided over an attendance of about 100 people. Professor W. A. Sewell was elected president, and Messrs. A. Goodwin, R. A. Singer and F. Craig vice-presidents. Other officers were elected as follows: Secretary, Mr. W. D. Dueliar; treasurer, Mr. F. Cartmill; organiser, Mr. R. K. Mason; committee, Messrs. E. Blair. W. J. Johns. E. G. Shreeve, H. W. Parker and J. R. Angelo. Under the auspices of the new movement the play "Waiting For ' Lefty," which recently scored a success at the Workers' Educational Association, will be produced in the suburbs. Arrangements were discussed last night for the occupation of a theatre to produce plays. The society will be incorporated.
