MORE PASSENGERS.

ON SUBURBAN RAILWAYS. TRAM FARE READJUSTMENTS. The number of passengers brought to the city this morning by suburban trains was considerably greater than the number that was carried last Monday. The increase was more noticeable on the northern line than on the southern, thoygh in the latter case there was also a definite increase in the number of tickets sold.

As no alterations liave been made in the schedules of the morning suburban trains or in the fares, the Railways Department is inclined to attribute the increase in the number of passengers to the fact that by abolishing concession cards the Auckland Transport Board has virtually increased tram fares for regular travellers.
