AGE APPEALS TO YOUTH. REMAKING THE WORLD. "I have never found anyone who has lost his love for sport through doing his duty to God 011 Sunday," said the Rev. G. V. Gerard at the ex-servicemen and women's drum head service in the Town Hall yesterday, Armistice Day, at which Mr. Gerard acted as chaplain. 111 making this statement the preacher was emphasising the- fact that the rising generation should not deny their religion and observance of Sunday, the observance of which had made for England's strength and thus for ultimate victory in 191 S. Mr. Gerard pointed out that while Armistice Day had originally been regarded more as a festival of hilarity, with the passing of the years its solemn significance was increasingly realised. It was the duty of the younger generation not to fail the veterans of 1914-1918, who were exemplyfield by the Old Contemptibles' A?e,ociation. Jesus preached against nothing more forcibly than the tragedy of lost opportunity. Youth must not fail to seize the opportunity of remaking the world.
