ITALIAN CONSUL WALKS OUT
JERUSALEM, November 13.
There was a scene at the openii* meeting of the Royal Commission o Palestine to-day. The Italian Consi General, Signor Mazzolini, walked oi on discovering that his chair had I>. placed next to tha; of the Abyssinia representative. Both had beer." invite as guests.
As the Abyssinian representative wa absent, the two chairs remained vacant
Earl Peel, chairman of the Commission, appealed to the Arab leaders to reconsider their decision to boycott the inquiry. He said it would be most unfortunate if the Commission were compelled to arrive at conclusions and make decisions without the Arabs' assistance.
Lord Peel emphasised i».at the Commission's terms of reference were wide, and would be interpreted broadly an.! •omprehensively. Its sittings would be n public unless a witness preferred to estifv privately. Everything would '»<• .ranslated into Arabic and Hebrew.
