League of Nations Reveals Steady Increase. NEARLY 1912-13 STRENGTH. LONDON, November 13. The League of Nations in tlirf' armaments year book estimates that permanent forces of the world for 1033-30 totalled 8,200,000 of which 5,450,000 were serving in navies. The total increase is 1,700,000 since 1931-32. Europe now has 4,800,000 men under arms as compared with 3,600,000 in 193132. Thus Europe's permanent forces are almost the same as in 1912-13. TWO NEW DESTROYERS. PURCHASES BY CANADA. (Received 12.30 p.m.) OTTAWA, November 13. The Prime Minister Mr. W. L. Mackenzie King, announces the purchase of two new destroyers from the Admiralty to replace the obsolete Cliamplain and Vancouver secured on loan in 1931. He reveals that a survey of industrial plants shows that Canada is capable of handling large munition orders which Mr. Baldwin is reported to be considering for Canada. COMBINED CONTINGENT. INDIANS FOR CORONATION. DELHI, November 13. It is announced that a combined military and police contingent from India will attend King Edward's coronation, including representatives of*all branches of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, and probably the forces of native States.
