The rise is explained by I s the shortage of supplies on the London I [■ market. j The following information is supplied 1 regarding London markets by the Primary ! 2 Products Marketing Department:— r Butter. —New Zealand salted, 108/ to l 109/ per cwt (equals approximately 12.83 d per lb f.0.b.); unsalted, none offering; t deliveries, New Zealand, 2122 tons; in t store, 3412 tons. There was an active , demand in the earlier part of the week and the price subsequently advanced for 1 available short supplies. New Zealand , retail price is unchanged at 1/ per lb; 1 Danish, 1/3. Cheese. —New Zealand white, 72/ to 72/6 ' per cwt (8.20 d per lb f.0.b.); coloured, 08/ to 09/ (7.73 d per lb f.0.b.); deliveries, New Zealand, 17,370 crates; in store, 44,145 2 crates. The cheese market is firm, sups plies being short. The New Zealand retail price is 9d.
