BUSY MORNING. DROP IN NORTHERN ROLLER MILLING. BANK OF N.S.W. ADVANCE. The week on the Auckland Stock Exchange closed with a bright tone at the morning call, when brisk bidding was maintained and a good number of sales. Recent easing in Northern Roller Mills was confirmed with a sale of the ordinary shares at par, a drop of 5/6 since the last sale in August, and the lowest price accepted for a considerable period. More were offered at £1 1/6, but buyers had withdrawn. Farmers' Fertilisers were also easier, having business lOd lower, at £1 0/6. Northern Steam recovered 3d of their recent drop with a sale at 4/3, more being wanted at that figure, with sellers 3d above. In banking, New South Wales had a sharp rise to business at £35 10/, with further offers of that amount and sellers at £36. New Zealands were firmer, between £2 1/6 and £2 2/. There was little movement in Australian industrials, though Electrolytic Zincs looked a shade easier, with the ordinary shares offered at £2 9/, without attracting a buyer, and a market for the preferences from £2 9/ to £2 10/. In mining, Mount Morgans were up 2d to business at 14/11, and were later quoted between that figure and 15/. The Government section showed little change. Kecent easing was confirmed in a sale of 1952-55 4 per cents 5/ lower at £105. An unusual feature was a sale of Rural Mortgage bonds at £104. SAI/ES COMPLETED. AT THE 3.15 P.M.
