Don'ts for Bathers.
There are three points about which all those who go down to the sea to bathe should be very particular. Don't go into the water when yon are very hot, because the fact that your skin is full of blood increases the shock of the plunge, putting a severe strain on the heart. Don't bathe immediately after a meal, for the effect of eating is like the effect of exertion. The skin becomes full of blood and the shock caused by the cold water i 3 very much increased. Don't take sunbaths for long at a time, and don't expose much of your body at a time unless you have become accustomed to the strong sunlight of the seaside; otherwise you may bring on what is called "lightstroke." After bathing a brisk rub down and a change into a dry batkin» costume is essential if you want to sunbathe. Never lie on the sands or play about in a wet suit, if you want to avoid pai;i f H -•"'burn and an irritated, inflam' d skin.
