-INCREASES DISCLOSED. HALF-YEARLY STATEMENT. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The Postmaster-General, the Hon. F. Jones, announced to-day that the business in his Department for the half-year ended September 30, amounted to £1,960,109, the figure for the corresponding period last year being £1,820,748. The main increases were: Postages, £34,307; telegrams, £14,182; tolls, £25,885; telephones, £54,031. For September, the increases compared with the same month last year were: Tolls 18,70 per cent, and telegrams 16.09 per cent.
