BIRKENHEAD ORPHANS.
CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING. A satisfactory year was recorded by the Birkenhead and Nortlicote Orphans' Club in the report presented to tlie annual meeting, which was largely attended. The president, Mr. J. W. Lethbridge, presided. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. H. Dowsing: vicepresidents, Dr. K. H. Holdgate, Messrs. Stanley Mills, F. Dickson and John Macdonald; secretary, Mr. Ronald E. Johnston; treasurer, Mr. John Williamson; committee, Messrs. C. Laurie, E. J. Sine], J. W. Hollows, Anderson and A. E. Wilkins; chief steward, Mr. R. O. White; auditor, Mr. J. W. Hollows.
