OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP, TOM GALLOWAY NOW 144. GUY AND BLACK UNDER 150. (J>y Telegtnph.—Special to "Star.") NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. The New Zealand golf tournament was continued at Ngamotu links to-day, when the IoT competitors faced the starter for the second round of the open championship. Four of the leading players yesterday —A. E. Gny-J. L. Black and T. S. Gallo-way-L. Catluo —were drawn early this morning, and were partnered as named. The quartet shaped well for good rounds over the first nine roles, and "when they reached the turn Guy and Black had equalled the scratch figures of 37, while the other pair were a stroke worse. For the first six holes Galloway ! played the soundest golf of the four, and was one under fours. The seventh hole, an easy five, has consistently caused him trouble with his second, and this morning he again failed there, being bunkered and losing a chance of picking up a stroke. Trouble followed at the eighth when he endeavoured to reach the green on the top of the hill with an iron. He pulled it and was short with his chip, a six resulting. Finally a four gave him 30 out, four worse than yesterday. His partner, C'athro, hit his irons beautifully to most of the greens in his outward half, but slipped two strokes early by takii;g three putts on the first two greens. After losing a stroke at "The Dell," the first one-sliotter, Cathro finished the half soundly in four, four, three, and was 38 out. Scores: — B. B. Silk, 75 (second round) —151 (aggregate); P. J.
