ELECTION OF COMMITTEES,

Ihe council of the Automobile Association (Auckland) met last evening, the president, Mr. F. G. Farrell, presiding. The following committees were elected: — Finance and legal: Messrs. A. A. Farrell, J. A. Gillett, A. Grayson, G. Henning, T. G. Julian, T. A. Low, J. Park, A. liosser, P. R. Skeates, M. 11. Wynyard. Insurance: Messrs. J. R. Self, F. G-. Farrell, A. A. Dignan, A. Traffic "Islands."—The City Council advised that the erection of an "island" at the corner of Onslow Road and The Drive, Epsom, as suggested by the association, would not be justified. The association decided to ask the council that the "island" experiment be tried .at some suitable place. Monaco Conference. — The Automobile Association (England) advised that Mr. H. A. Yockne.v was representing the Auckland Association at the Monaco Conference of the Alliance International de Tourisme. New Zealand Defence League.—A request for appointment of delegates was referred to the legal and finance committee. - " • "
