SAFETY GLASS SCREENS.
COMPULSORY IN BRITAIN. It is stated that 500.000 motor vehicles in Britain must have new windscieens fitted before the end of the year. Thi. is to com ply with the Ministry of Tians port regulation which makes safety glass screens compulsory after January 1, 1037. According to current statistics of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, about 300.000 private and nearly 200.000 commercial vehicles are 011 the road without safety glass windscreens. Under the Ministry of iiansport regulations safety glass became compulsory in screens and front « !n " dows 011 January 1, 1932, but vehicles already 111 service were ail owed unti January, 1037, before complying. Motorists with old cars fitted with plain £*??? windscreens can have replacement wit safety glass made in a fe.v hours, writes the motoring correspondent of tn e "Times." -Many garages, service stations, and glaziers have special departments where the screens can be cu: and fitted.
