In reference to the rise in room rents, every other commodity has risen in cost to meet extrst expenses, so why have to house pensioners at a price that barely covers the cost? Many women letting rooms have worked and reared families; in middle life they can sink or swim. Ih many cases they are poorer than the pensioners they are compelled through circumstances to house. So why not th« Government do their ov:li job and give the pensioners adequate allowance to pay their way and not expect worn-out women that are trying to keep off charity to carry these people on their heavily-laden shoulders 1 . ONE OF THE OVERLOOKED.
