TROPHIES PRESENTED.
WELCOME TENNIS CLUB. The annual dinner, dance and prize giving of Welcome Tennis Club, Parnell, was held at the Ascot Dining Rooms recently. Mrs. J. Rees acted as hostess, and together with the president, Mr. 0. Rees ,presented the cups to the various winners. During the evening musical items were given by Mrs. A. Watson and Mr. Opilir Rees, while a display of juggling was given by Mr. 11. Yarwood. Among those prenent were: Mesdames W. C. Pilgrim, D. Miller, E. Bridgens, R. Gee, J. Worrall, F. Lambert, A. Hayter, Jaffe, D. O'Connell, A. Pennell, D. Allen, F. Lamb; Misses L. Clarke, S. Harrison, Haycock, Ross, E.° Gay. The -following were prize winners in the ladder championships: Ladies' singles, Miss E. Gay, runner-up, Mrs. P. Chapman; men's singles, G. Allen, run-ner-up, H. Edwards; combined doubles, Mrs. D. Allen and G. Allen; men's doubles, S. Miller and R. Gay; ladies' doubles, Mrs R. Gee and Miss T. Pearce; B grade ladies' singles, Mrs. D. O'Connell, runner-up, Miss S. Harrison; men's singles, C. Fermston, runner-up, O. Rees; men's doubles, J. Meeghan and D. O'Connell; combined doubles, Mrs. D. O'Connell and Mr. O. Rees.
