| NEW CUSTOMS REGULATIONS. i The Auckland Chamber of Commerce met to-day, the vice-president, Mr. W. R. Fee, presiding. The Associated Chambers of Commerce advised that following representations to the Government, asking if legislation would be brought down this session eliminating Saints' days from the list of bank holidays, the Prime Minister had reported that no legislation dealing with bank holidays would be introduced this session. The letter was received, Mr. A,. G. Lunn remarking, "We should keep the matter warm."
The new Customs regulations regard- | ing certificates of origin of goods and j othfr matters, which are to come into | force on January 1, were discussed, j Messrs. Gainor Jackson and W. A. Boucher expressed the opinion that the notice given vas insufficient, and the meeting decided to ask the Minister of Customs to defer the date of operation of the regulations to June 1.
