OWNER-DRIVER CARRIERS. 3\ . »' AUCKLAND DECISION. For the purpose of improving the conditions in the carrying industry in Auckland, a meeting of ninety carriers in the Trades Hal) last evening decided to form an Auckland Owner-Driver Carriers' Association, and Mr. E. Lovie was elected first president of the association. Other officers were also elected, and it is anticipated that ultimately the association will have a membership of about 250. A further meeting of the association is to be held on Friday evening, when steps wijl be taken to obtain information relative to the carryiirr industry for submission to the Commission of Inquiry into the taxi and carrying businesses when it sits in Auckland in the near future.
