AUCKLAND FRENCH CLUB.

[ COMPETITION FOR SCHOOLS. The competition conducted annually by the Auckland French Club for pupils of secondary schools, ill French reading, dictation and conversation, for prizes dMated by the Alliance Francaise of Paris, rssulted this year as follows: — First prize: Winifred June Barter, Epsom Girls' Grammar School. Second prize: Joan Maclaurin, Epsom Girls' Grammar School. Certificates were awarded to Barbara Johns (Auckland Girls' Grammar School). Dorothea Jean Morrell (Auckland Girls' Grammar School), arid Hilma Alaine Moody (Diocesan High School). The presentation of prizes and certificates will be made at the closing meeting of the club on Monday evening.
