SAVOLDI TOO GOOD FOR DAVIS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, Wednesday, In a wrestling match characterised by a good deal of action, punctuated with showmanship. Savoldi defeated Davis to-night lay two falls to one. The contest went to the seventh round. Davis gained a fall in the fourth round. Savoldi, following a series of drop kicks and flying butts, equalised in the sixth round. In the seventh round Davis came out apparently groggy and lasted only 18 seconds. Savoldi drop-kicked him twice and then drove home a body press.

McCREADY BEATS PENCHEFF.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TIMARU, Wednesday. In a wrestling match to-night McCready defeated Pencheff on points, in eight rounds, before the largest house seen in Timaru. The bout was a most disappointing one. There was very little solid wrestling and a preponderance of showmanship.
