ORATORY SCRATCHED.
CUSTOS NOT FOR MELBOURNE
MELBOURNE, October 7. Oratory was scratched to-day for the Caulfield Cup and all Plemington engagements. Talking arrived at Caulfield to-day. Custos is not making the trip to Melbourne. Mala arrives to-morrow with a view to contesting the Victoria Derby and Melbourne Cup. Sareherie, runner-up in the last two Melbourne Cups, arrived yesterday to make her third attempt to win the race. Onewlietu and International have arrived at Caulfield and joined Cynical Kid, .Wotan and Black Friar under the care of J. Fryer. Queen of Song is expected to arrive in Melbourne to-night. If started in the I'oorak Handicap she will be ridden by J. Jennings. Ashley Reed rides Silver Reign in the Caulfield Guineas and Hostile in the foorak Handicap. T. Webster will be on Heros in the Toorak Handicap.
