The Auckland-owned gelding Rustle, who won a race at the New Zealand Metropoli- ! tan Trotting Club's meeting in August, has rejoined J. S. Shaw's team at Templeton, ' Christehurch, and is now undergoing seri- j ous work, with a view to competing in ' suitable races at the southern club's Newf Zealand Cup meeting. TEAM OF SEVEN. D. Withers has seven horses in work at Addington. Kingcraft has made a satisfactory recovery from the injury he ! received during the contest for the Bollard ; Memorial Handicap at the recent meeting i at Wellington, which he won. Kingcraft i will probably make his next appearance at i the Oamaru Trotting Club's meeting on ' Labour Day. The chestnut gelding Envious, > by Truman Direct from Sal Pointer, is ' getting along nicely and will be ready for spring contests. Envious won the first race in which he started. That was at tlxKuniara Racing Club's autumn meeting, where he was ridden by G. Withers in a mile saddle event, and defeated Mother's Boy by a neck in 2.18 off 2.27. At that time Mother's Boy raced as a pacer, but has since been put back to the trotting' gait. A colt named Lord Zetland is shaping well. He is a half-brother to Lord Worthy, who competed in the last New Zealand Sapling Stakes. Lord Zetland is by Man-o'-War. Coral Prince and Irish Peach are also training on satisfactorily, and Big Nelson and a cream novice are expected to be in good racing trim for summer contests.
