LANCASHIRE SOCIETY.
The County Palatine Association lieltl an enjoyable social evening in the rooms of the New Women's Club, Customs Street East. A musical programme was presented by Mrs. Gordon Nicholson, Miss E. Jones, Miss J. Lambert, Mr. E. Newling and Mr.iijjackson. .The vocal items and pianoforte solos were much appreciated, as were the elocutionary items rendered by Mr. J. Andrew and Mr. F. Corbridge. The accompanists were Mrs. McCarthy and jMrs. Jones. Miss Lambert was the solO;pianist. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Goodison acted as hostesses. The president, Mr. W. J. Dodd, contributed a Lancashire dialect reading, and afterwards announced that negotiations were proceeding for another clubroom. The membership roll showed a further substantial increase.
