GOVERNMENT SUPPORTED.
RESOLUTION AT WELLSFORD. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WARKWORTH, Wednesday. An address on the legislation passed by the Labour Government, with special reference to that relating to the dairy industry, was given by Mr. J. G. Barclay, M.P., before a packed attendance at the Wellsford Public Hall. Mr. W. R. Grant presided. Mr. Barclay was occupied for over an hour in answering questions. The questions were mainly to do with the wages of farm labour, increased costs to the dairy industry, and the financing of dairy produce sales. He emphasised the fact that the Government had established a committee to consider the increased costs to the dairy industry and that in fixing the guaranteed price next season an allowance would be made to cover the increased costs 011 the farm and in the dairy factories. A formal vote of thanks was proposed. but an amendment, thanking the speaker for his address, regretting the resolutions passed in parts of the Rodney County by dairy suppliers and pledging continued support to Mr. Barclay, the Governmen* and its policy, was carried by a large majority,
