ON 'CHANGE.

BUSINESS IS FAIR. SOME AUSTRALIANS FIRM. BANK OF NEW ZEALANDS IMPROVE. A steady turnover lias continued on the Auckland Stock Exchange over the past 24 hours, with values firm for a number of Australian and mining issues, which have attracted most attention.. Broken Hills improved a fraction to a sale at £3 17/5, with a subsequent market between £3 16/9 and £3 17/6. An offer of £43 for Colonial Sugars failed to attract a seller. Australian Glass sold 6d higher, at £4 12/9, further buyers offering £4 12/6, with sellers at £4 13/. Woolworths (Sydney) had a sale 2/ up, at £5 8/6, after which they were offered at £5 9/6, buyers still in at £5 8/. G. J. Coles were a shade easier between £3 15/6 and £3 16/9. In the mining section Marthas sold Id higher, at £1 0/2, with a later market from £1 to £1 0/3. Waihis were in demand at 10/7 and. Junctions at 3/6. In the banking section New Zealands improved, with buyers at £ 1 IS/9 and sellers £1 19/3. There was steady bidding for other issues at late rates. In insurances South British continued firm, with buyers at £4 10/ yesterday, sellers at £4 11/6 having dropped out. Nationals were still wanted at IS/9, and buyers came in for New Zealands at £3. In Government stocks, '37-'4o's were available at £101 15/ and '43-'46's at £104. Values Firm. A sharp rise in Bank of New Zealands was a feature of the noon call, when a sale at £1 19/, showing a rise of 6d since last sale on Saturday, was recorded. Sellers then moved up to" £1 19/6, with buyers still £1 18/9. A parcel of South British Insurances was offered at £4 11/6. Auckland Gas improved to a sale at £1 3/, with more on offer at that rate and buyers a penny below. Northern Roller Milling preferences sold, for the first time since the dividend was paid, at £1 3/. Australian Glass were very firm, buyers raising their offers to £4 13/, and sellers ■retiring to £4 .13/6.
