SUVA MUNICIPALITY.

NOMINATION TO CONTINUE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) SUVA, September 20. A communication has been recei\ed by the late Mayor from the Secretary of State, who has "considered your memorial but docs not see his way to intervene in the manner requested." This is the final answer to the agitation to prevent the Government from abolishing the elective system in connection with the representation in the Municipal Council. Town affairs are now governed by a nominated Town Board, wherein European, Indian and native ratepayers have equal representation, while official members also sit, one of. whom is nominated as chairman.
