MUSIC FESTIVAL.

CAMBRIDGE FIXTURE. RECORD ENTRIES. (From Our Own Correspondent.) CAMBRIDGE, Friday. Record entries totalling 643, compared with 506 last year, have been received for the Cambridge Competition Society's fourteenth annual festival, which commences on ilonday and will be continued throughout the week. The entries are representative of the province, Auckland providing 54, Hamilton and Frankton -226 and Cambridge 250. There are 250 entries in the vocal sections and 140 in the instrumental section, as against 94 last year. There is a large increase in the elocution sections, the total being 200, compared with 126 in 1935. There are 66 entries in the dancing section. The adjudicators are: Mr. H. S. Claiighton (Nelson), vocal and instrumental; Mr. J. R. Lester (Christchurch), elocution; Miss Bettina Edwards (Auckland), dancing.
