AUCKLAND TRAVEL CLUB.

TONGAN QUEEN HONOURED. The private reception hall of Milne and Ghoyce presented a festive appearance yesterday when the Auckland Travel Club expressed a welcome ill music and song to Her Majesty Salote Tubou, Queen of Tonga. The Queen was accompanied by Mrs. W. A. Boucher, wife of the Agent for the Tongan Government in New Zealand. A trio, composed of Miss Isobel Langlands (Mrs. E. Greenfield), violin, Mrs. Marjorie Gully (piano) and Miss Betty Fenton ('cello), played the Tongan National Anthem in honour of the guest of the morning. Other items on the programme consisted of songs by Mrs. Humphrey Gordon and Miss Te Mauri Meihana." Further selections were given by the trio, and a recitation by Mrs. Maisie CarteLloyd. Lady Wilson presented a "basket of tulips, pansies and sweet peas to Queen Salote, and a shoulder bouquet to Mrs. W. A. Boucher. At the official table were: Queen Salote Tubou of Tonga, Mrs. W. A. Boucher, Lady Wilson, Mrs. Victor Maeky (director), Mrs. Eliot Davis, Mrs. H. J. Kelliher, Mrs. Margaret Cortright (Florida), Miss Margot Svme (Melbourne), and Mr. Breiulon Dow'ling (Sydney). Mrs. Macky welcomed Mrs. Martyn Wilson home from her Eastern trip, and bade farewell to Miss Etta Field, who was departing by the Mariposa that day.

The following overseae and out-of-town guests were also welcomed: Miss Flora Irvine (Melbourne), Mrs. Chisliolm (Apia), Miss J. C. Wood (Utah, U.S.A.), Miss J. Wood (Utah, U.S.A.), Miss Sally Lowe, Mrs. Oakea (member of committee, Wellington Travel Club), Miss Te Mauri Meiliana, Miss Bain (Dannevirke), Miss Bain (Dannevirke), Mrs. Clarke (Te Awamutu), Mrs. Heney (Sydney), Miss Etta Field (Sydney), Miss Alison Hooker (Hamilton), Mrs. Paterson (Colombo, Ceylon), Mrs. Cooper (Singapore), Miss Syme (Melbourne), Mrs. Cortright (Florida), Dr and Mrs. Sawers (Margate, England) Miss Muriel Valli (2GB Station I Sydney).

Members of the ladies' committee present were: Lady Wilson, Mrs. Eliot Davis, Mrs. H. J. Kelliher, Mrs. G. T. Simpson, Mrs. A. F. O'Donaghue, Mrs. J McKenzie Wilson, Mrs. Gordon Robertson, Mrs. C. M. Rout and Mrs. G. E Anderson.
