KNIVES, ARROWS.
ATTACK BY NATIVES. Fatal Fight Reported from New Guinea. SIX ASSAILANTS KILLED. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 11 a.m.) CANBERRA, this day. News has been received from the acting-Administrator of New Guinea of an attack by natives on September 24 on a patrol in the Rai Coast area, near Madang. The Assistant-District Officer, Mr. Nurton, and all the members of his camp were wounded. Six of the attacking natives were killed and one woman was captured. Natives grabbed Mr. Nurton while women attacked him with knives. Other men attacked Mr. Nurton's native police with arrows.
