LAWN TENNIS.
WAIKATO EAST ASSOCIATION. Nine clubs were represented at the annual meeting of the Waikato East Tennis Association, held at Matamata. Special reference was made in the report to the success of the Beverley sisters (Nessie and Margaret). Dr. J. T. Laurenson, former New Zealand singles and doubles champion, has definitely retired from active participation in the game. Officers elected Patron, Mr. J. Keane (Tirau), president, Mr. H. G. Keeley (Matamata) ; vice-presidents, Messrs. F. Rose, N. T>. Higginson, I. Neill. I<\ Livingstone, It. Dtinlop: secretary and treasurer, Mr. L. Sutcliffe; auditor, Mr. N. Harkman; committee, Messrs. G. Ivirk, T. Mjickcn, R. Gcrmaim, 11. M. Duman. I. Hopkins, T. Pearce, A. Anderson; selectors, Messrs. Keeley, Dunlop and Livingstone. A tribute was paid to the retiring president, Mr. H. A. Jenson. Te Poi Club was granted affiliation, and it was stated that in all probability Arapuni Club would also be joining up with the association.
