AID TO MARKETING.
GIFT GOODS FOR ENGLAND. Annually, a club in Sydney known as the Millions Club promotes a scheme of sending away to England gifts of Australian jam as an aid to popularising the manufactures of this country (states an Australian exchange). It invites its members and all who may take an interest to subscribe the price of a case, or cases, of jam in tins, and to name the person to whom it is desired the gift should be sent. The club then does the rest. The scheme this year was launched by the Governor-General, Lord Gowrie, who placed the initial order for eight ease®. The Governor, Sir" Murray Anderson, placed the second order, and the tic-ing-Premier. Mr. Bruxner, gave the third order (for a case to be sent to his son at Eton College). Following these yearly dispatches the local manufacturers receive orders from England, which show that the scheme has good effect, despite the fact that the conserve is packcd in tins instead of glass jars. The scheme is regarded as a definite contribution to inter-Empire tradjng relations.
