CAMBRIDGE! CLUBS. ANNUAL MEETINGS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) CAMBRIDGE, Friday. At the annual meeting of St. Paul's Tennis Club the officers elected were: — President, Rev. AV. J. Oxbrow; patron, Mr. M. Butter; secretary and treasurer, Sir. H. Hooker; club captain, Mr. G. Vinall; afternoon tea convener, Miss M. Carter; general committee, Miss N. Easter, Mrs. Ellis, L. Byeroft, G. Vinall, the secretary and the club captain; delegates to sub-association, Messrs. L. Byeroft and H. Hooker; ladder secretary, Mr. L. Byeroft. The annual general meeting of the Horahora Tennis Club was held in the Maungatautari Xo. 2 School. Mr. H. Osborne presided. The following officers were elected:—President, Mr. H. Osborne; vicepresident, Mr. J. M. Scott; secretary, Miss V. Hill; committee, Mesdames La Trobe and Simpson, Miss E. Simpson, Messrs. C. La Trobe, W. Wright, H. Osborne, jun., R. Strawbridge and R. Simpson. WESLEY Y.M. CLUB. The largest attendance for some years was present at the annual meeting of the AVesley Young Men's Institute Tennis Club, presided over by the Rev. E. T. Olds. The annual report indicated a successful season, in that the membership had been maintained, a small loss on the previous season had been recovered and the teams had acquitted themselves well in competitive play. It was • decided 'to again enter teams in the Minor Clubs' Association and the Churches' Association. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Rev. E. T. Olds; captain. Mr. D. H. Payne; vice-captain, Mr. S. W. Attwell; secretary, Mr. W. 11. Elliott; treasurer, Mr. B. Whitehead; management committee. Mrs. I. Moir, Miss N. Hickling, Messrs. G. C. Riddell, D. H. Payne, S. W. Attwell, W. H. Elliott and B. Whitehead; selection committee, Mrs. I. Moir and Messrs. D. H. Payne and S. W. Attwell; afternoon tea committee, Misses P. Tonkin and E. McArthur, Messrs. N. Grocott (convener) and J. Crooks. . Arrangements were made for play to commence on September 19, and the official opening is to be held on September 26. KIHIKIHI CLUB. There wag a very good attendance of members of the Kihikihi Tennis Club at the annual meeting. The reoort disclosed a highly successful season. Reference wjjs made to the provision of a new court to accommodate the growing membership, and the satisfactory financial position. Regret was expressed that the club is losing several prominent members by departure from the district. The election of officers for the new sea-1 son resulted :—President. Mr. W. McGhie ; vice-presidents. Messrs. .1. A. Marquiss, A. Wilson and S. Churchfield; secretary and treasurer, Mr. O. K. Penny, re-elected : club captain, Mr. P. Brown. It was arranged to open the season on Saturday, October 6. TE PUNINGA CLUB. The Te Punlnga Tennis Club, which 1s affiliated to the Piako Tennis Sub-Associa-tion held its annual meeting on Wednesday evening, Mr. H. Skiffington presiding. Officers were elected as follow :—Patron, Mr. T. J. Roach : president. Mr. D. J. Wright; vice-presidents. Messrs. J. J. Patterson. C. H. Murphy. F. Earl and J. K. Watson; secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. Earl: committee, the president, secretary and Messrs. T. Wright. R. C. Bell. Misses J. Roach, M. Marshall and A. Earl : handicapping committee. Mrs. P. Saxton and Messrs. H. Skiffington and D. .T. Wright ; delegates to Piako Tennis Association. Messrs. R. Earl and T. Wright. The club will open its season on September 20. HAIRINI CLUB. The president. Mr. G. S. Hall, told the annual meeting ol the Hairini Tennis Club that the past season had been a very happy and successful oue in every respect, and prospects for the 1936-37 season were considered bright. The election of officers resulted: —President. Mr. G. S. Hall, reelected: vice-presidents. Messrs. S.' E Bryant (re-elected) and G. W. Glasson ■ secretary and treasurer, Mr. D. Onion - reelected ; club captain. Mr. D. Payne, reelected ; vice-cantiiin. Mr. R. Glasson; auditor. Mr. T. W. Dibble : committee. Mesdames D. Payne, T. W. Dibble and W. ,T. Hodgson Misses G. Hall. V. Collison and M. Glasson Messrs. K. Balme and H. Onion.
