Some outstanding beef was sold. The best was a prime steer which realised £10 IoA sold 011 account of Mr. W. J. Ralph, of Mahuta. This was one of a line of eight steers which averaged £15. Beef. —-Our yarding was more than an average one. Although in places last week's quotations ruled, generally values were inclined to cane. Extra choice ox sold to 35/ per 1001b; choice and prime, 33/ to 34/J secondary and plain, 27/ to 32/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 31/ to 34/; secondary, 24/ to 30/. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £16 to £16 10/; heavy, £14 to £15 15/; lighter, £12 to £13 15/; light, £10 10/ to £11 17/6; small and unfinished, £8 to £9 5/. Extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £10 2/0 to £10 15/; heavy, J £9 to £10; lighter, £7 to £3 17/6; light, £5 to £6 17, 6; others, £2 10/ to £4 15/. Dalgcty and Co., Ltd. Beef. — We yarded 236 head of beef, comprising 44 steers and 192 cows and heifers, against 225 head last week. The quality was first class and with a good demand prices remained on a par with last week's for prime quality, while others were a shade easier. Extra choice ox sold to 36/ per 1001b; choice and prime, 32/ to 35/; secondary and plain, 28/ to 31/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 33/ to 35/; secondary, 27/ to 32/. No extra heavy prime steers were varded; heavy, £13 to £13 17/6; lighter, £11 10/. to £12 17/6; light, £10 7/6 to £11 7/6; small and unfinished, £7 10/ to £9 15/. Extra heavy prime voung cows and heifers, £10 to £12 12/6: heavy, £8 12/ to £9 17/6; lighter, £7 10/ to £8 12/6; light. £5 15/ to £7; others, £3 to £5 10/'.
Calves.—We penned short numbers, competition was keen ami all classes sold readily anu values were very firm on last week's quotations.
