The market was again S inactive, though values seemed steady, > with an occasional vising tendency. British Tobaccos were 3d up on the announcement of a higher interim divi--1 (lend. Tooth's Breweries had reported j sales at a rise to £2 15/, and there were J buyers 011 'Change for both these issues > at the ruling levels after the sales. Government stocks were dull, with sellers unsupported for 1946's and 104'J's at £103 > 15/ and £105 12/6 respectively. Goldsbrough, Morts and Dalgetys responded to the good tone of the Sydney wool sales, with buyers for the former at £1 12/8 and sellers at £1 12/11. Dalgetys _ market stood between £8 15/ and £9 5/. Apart from the rise in British Tobaccos, most quotations in the miscellaneous section remained firm, but Broken Hill eontributings lost 3d. The fully-paids, however, were wanted at a fraction above £3 14/. New Zealand Newspapers showed buyers at £1 17/6 and sellers at £2.
