TRACK GALLOPS.

SATURDAY'S WORK. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WANGANUI, Saturday. This morning's track work was carried out in dull, though fine, weather. The course proper, with the pegs some 15ft out, was open for fast work, the going being holding. Before breakfast, M. Jennings gave Airing good three-quarter pace work. After the interval, the Guineas candidates, Brazen King (K. Choate) and Imposture (E. Peck), were associated in a spin over five furlongs. They ran the first two in 255, three in 38s, and finished up in 1.6. Some of Brazen King's gear carried away in the straight, and he lost a bit of ground, but finished on well to be on terms with Imposture, who was going well within herself at the post. Missal had Koura Rua as a companion in a half-mile flutter, which took 54 l-ss, with the former going the better. Spiral (Morrison) and Moquette (Peck) went five furlongs together. They cut out the first furlong in 12' As, three furlongs in j 395, and the full distance in 1.5 4-5, with Spiral going very strongly on the outside, a shade in front. Though the son of Limond will be improved by a race or two, he looks in great heart, and his track works suggests that he will be hard to beat in his Wanganui engagements. Grand Jury, "who has not been in work long, was given a circuit, finishing up fast over the last bit. The two-year-olds, Baron Bold and Amatory, and the three-year-old, Parikino, jumped off at the two-furlong peg, the last named being last to get going. The other pair were together at the turn, but over the last bit Baron Bold drew out to finish a couple of lengths ahead in 25 l-ss. Baron Bold hit out very freely, and he looks likely to turn out good. Amatory is a son of Kiosk and Golden Peak. This was only his second fast gallop, and the way he shaped was very promising. The' first of the progeny of Croupier has made its appearance at Mr. John Donald's Westmere Stud. It is a fine chestnut colt from Zarisee (by Paladin), the dam of Dollar Bill.
