LAUNCH ASHORE.

ROYAL SAXON IN ORAKEI BAY. The 35ft bridge-deck cruising launch Royal Saxon, owned by Mr. F. Charlesworth, of Titai Street, Orakei, which was moored in Orakei Bay,-parted her moorings and came ashore about 6 o'clock 011 Saturday evening. The wind blew in heavy gusts from the nor'-west on Saturday, making a rough sea in the bay and the boat came ashore on the sand right in the centre of the bay, and is quite undam-] aged.

Mr. Charlesworth was on the beach very soon after the launch came ashore. Ho found that the chain, a particularly heavy one, had parted at the swivel. It was fortunate that the launch cleared tho remains of the hulk Rothesay Bay, now being broken up in the bay. The tide on Sunday morning drove her a little higher up the beach, but she was towed off without difficulty yesterday afternoon.
