STREET FATALITY.

PONSONBY ACCIDENT.

ELDERLY MAN KILLED.

Fatal head injuries were suffered by Mr. Hugo Charles Wliitmore, aged 00, when ho was struck by a motor car near the intersection of Hepburn Street and Ponsonby Road early on Saturday evenill". Mr. Whitniore was a married man, and lived at 2, Prime Road, Grey Lynn. A St. John ambulance was called immediately after the accident, but it was found that death had been almost instantaneous. An inquest was opened yesterdiy before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., and adjourned after formal evidence liad been given.
