STATEMENT BY MINISTER.

WELLINGTON, Friday.

A denial that employees in the Government Printing Office had been refused a 40-liour week was issued by the Minister in charge of the office, the Hon. P. C. Webb, in a statement issued today. The Minister explained that _ a private deputation had waited on him regarding the question and he had replied that the deputation's representations would have to be taken into consideration when the Government wei reaching a decision as to the course to be followed with respect to all State Departments. That was the position as it stood at present.
