RUNNER'S TRIUMPH.

COMMEMORATION SCHEME.

LOVELOCK'S PERFORMANCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A meeting of the New Zealand Olympic Council appointed a sub-com-mittee consisting of J. W. Heenan, H. McCormick, A. B. Bayfield and H. Amos, to consider what steps should be taken to commemorate J. E. Lovelock's Olympic achievement.

It was pointed out that in the past bowlers participating in overseas tournaments were not truly New Zealand representatives, as advantage had been taken of holiday tours arranged by New Zealanders who happened to be bowlers. Such representation was most unsatisfactory. A long discussion took place regarding the affiliation of the Dominion Wrestling Union and the New Zealand Amateur Wrestling Federation. Decision was deferred until the annual meeting. In the meantime the association will ascertain the requirements of the International Wrestling Federation,' whose headquarters at present are in Hungary.
