Notice is hereby given that the Howick j Town Board has made application lor the issue of au Order-in-Council, pursuant to Section 85 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, authorising that Board to fix water charges according to the quantity ; used. The effect of the issue of such an Order-in-Council will be that the Howick Town Board may charge for the ordinary supply (as well as the extraordinary supply) of .water by meter, according to the quantity used, in lieu of water rates (as at present) made and levied 111 accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1033. All persons affected who object to the proposed method of charging for the ordinary supply of water are hereby notified that any objection in writing to or petitions against the issue of the said Order-in-Council must be lodged with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington, within one month from the first publication of this notice.
