RUGBY FOOTBALL.

THE POLICE TEAMS,

REPRESENTATIVE MATCH

An inter-provincial Rugby match between police teams will be played for the first time in Auckland next Wednesday, when representatives of the Auckland and Wellington Police Forces will meet at Eden Park. Proceeds from the match, which will be for the New Zealand Police Rugby Challenge Cup, presented by four business men in Wellington, will go to the Crippled Children's Fund.

The Auckland team recently won the mid-week competition for the Kohn Cup, which is open to teams representing the various services, and it also defeated the South Auckland B representative side at Eden Park. The Wellington team includes *a number of prominent inter-provincial players, also two former All Blacks. With such strong teams in opposition there is every prospect of fast and entertaining football.

Following are the teams:—

Wellington.—Pointon, Wakelin, Eden, McJannet. Best, Harris. Hawke, Hull, Palmer, Wanle, Barry, Wilson, Miles, Fell, Cleverley. Emergency: Arnst.

Auckland—Elliot, Hotham, Saunders, Duncan, Stewart), Lane (captain). Roddick, Downie, Galloway. Miller, Kelk, Irvine, Harris, Lillev, Fowler. Emergencies: Rogers, Pollock.
