MAORI MINISTER.

RELATIVE OF NATIVE KING. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TUAKAU, Friday. The death occurred last night >of the Rev. Poru' Erueti Matete Kukiitai, aged 07, the Maori Methodist minister at Tuakau for the last 20 years. He was a relative of King Koroki and Was a rangatira of the Ngatipipi, Ngatitahinga, Ngatimaniapoto, Ngatiliana and Me Waikato Hoki tribes; He was instrumental in having a Maori hostel erected on his property at Tukau several years ago. He was a great worker for the welfare of the natives, and was a vice-president of the New Zealand Maori Rugby Advisory Board. He is survived by his wife and two children of his first marriage. The interment takes place on Tuesday at Te Kohanga or Taupiri. A very large number of Maoris is expected to attend the tangi at Tuakau.
