£5000 RAISED.

McGREGOR NATIONAL FUND. APPRECIATION OF WILOW. The sum of £043 has been raised in Auckland by the Mayor's committee for the McGregor Fund for the dependents of Squadron-Leader M. C. McGregor, who died from injuries received when his 'plane crashed at Rongotai. The amount has been forwarded to the trustees of the national fund, -which now exceeds £5000. '

The Auckland committee recently sent a letter to Mrs. McGregor, at Palmerston North, and has received the following reply:—"l find it impossible to ! express adequately my grat:'ude to those 'in Auckland and elsewhere who have contributed to the fund and have worked so hard for its success. Would you please , convoy to the committee my deep appreciation both of the generous practical help afforded to me and to my children I by the large fund collected;' and also by tho warm tributes paid in your letter j to the memory of my late husband."
