OPENING ON SATURDAY. La Meri, the international dancer, will start performances in Auckland on Saturday with a company of four, and over 70 trunks of cootumes valued at £7500. Included in these are several old bpamsli mantillas valued at from £150 to £-00 each. Although quite young, La Men has two books of dancing and five books of poetry to her credit. She was brought up on her father's ranch on the border of Mexico, was educated at an American University and wfis taught dancing y many famous masters, including farasort and Volinine. , . . , Travelling with her are her husband, Senor Guido Carreras, who manages aU her productions; Mario Salerno, a biuliant young Italian pianist and composer, who has written some fine ballet music nnd is known as "the perfect accompanist to a dancer ; Laura Mollica, a pupil of La Meri who assists in several dances; Averardo Bertocchi, a specml lighting technician from Europe, and Mr. Reg. Jones.
