METHODIST WOMEN.

ANNUAL MEETING HELD,

The twenty-eighth annual meeting of the Auckland Methodist Women's Missionary Auxiliary was held in the Pitt Street schoolroom yesterday afternoon. The presentation of reports and election of oflicers formed tlie principal business of the meeting. Miss E. Pearce, the correspondence secretary, gave a resume of the reports of the various branches, while Miss Ida Buttle, the minutes secretary, presented the genera' report of the auxiliary work and Miss E. Adlington, the treasurer, the financial report. Very satisfactory progress in every department was shown by these reports. With the forming of seven new branches during the year the number of branches now stands at 25, with a membership of 724, while the total income raised amounts to £5!)(> 15/4'. A large number of parcels and generous donations of money have been forwarded for the Christmas boxes which, under the direction of Miss Reid, are now being packed for shipment to the Solomons. In the election of oflicers Mrs. A. White was unanimously voted to the- presidential chair for a fourth year in succession. The resignation of Miss Pearce from the position of correspondence secretary, a step necessary on account of her appointment as secretary-elect of the Dominion Methodist Women's Missionary Union, was received with general regret. Mrs. White spoke in appreciative words of the work rendered by Miss Pearce during her four years' t„erm of office. By unanimous vote Mrs. Lewis, from the Dominion Road branch, was elected to fill the vacancy. With the exception of Miss Pearce all the retiring officers were re-elected for the ensuing year. During the afternoon musical items were contributed by the KurahQna Maori girls. At the conclusion of the. meeting brisk business was done at a miscellaneous stall which was conducted bv these pupils,, who in this way contribute to mission work.
