WOMAN'S DEATH.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES. MELBOURNE, August 16. The police are investigating the death of Miss Adelaide Bek, aged 50, whose body was found to-day in a dam ei"-ht miles from Allendale in the Ballarat district. It is believed that the woman was murdered. A post-mortem examination indicated that death was not due to drowning but to head injuries. The woman had been missing for three-weeks.
