MARKET IS WEAK.

THREE SALES AT FIRST CALL.

There was little zest in the stock markets this morning, and at the first call only three sales were recorded, two being of Australian industrials and the other of Fiji mining. ; The banking section' was dull. New Zealands were on offer at £2, with best buyer stopping at £1 19/6. Commercials were steady between 17/11 and' 18/2. Auckland Gas shares were again available at £1 4/6, and a buyer came in at 1/ lower. Dominion Breweries firmed up, and there were buyers at £1 7/1, with no sellers in sight. Buyers for Union Oils moved up to £1 10/6. Wilsons Cements were easier, being on offer at £1 19/9, with no buyers. In Australian issues the only ones showing liveliness were Coles, which were quoted between £4 1/ and £4 2/6, and Lyells, for which buyers advanced to £.1 7/6, sellers 6d higher. In Government stocks all issues were in request, but there'were none offering. Market Still Hesitant. There was little improvement during the morning, and only four sales were finalised at noon, values .being steady. Quotations, however, showed a fluctuating and irregular market. South British were available at £4 10/9, after buyers had come in at £4 10/. There were more Auckland Gas shares available at the ruling price, closing offer 6d below. In the miscellaneous Consolidated Bricks were quoted Id lower on each side, and Dunlops were available at Id reduction. Australians appeared to be the strongest sections, buyers of Coles moving up 3d and Mount" Lyells advancing 2d.
