MOTOR CYCLE TAKEN.
PROBATION FOR YOUTH. Two years' probation, with the special restriction that he. abstains from alcohol, was the sentence imposed on Albert Charles Joass, a fish cleaner, acred 20, who appeared before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Police Court this morning on a charge oi" unlawfully converting to his own use a motor cj r cle valued at £10, the property of Skeates and White, Limited. Mr. G. Skelton, who appeared for accused, said that Joass' action revealed the effects of drink rather than anv crlminal intent.
"I hope this will he a lesson that will teach you to leave liquor alone" remarked the magistrate in passing sentence. Joass was also ordered to pay witnesses' expenses amounting to 8/.
